江戸時代から葉藍は重要な地域の作物であり当時、安佐郡であった三篠地区は、特に上等な生藍を生産していたー(三篠郷土史より引用)そこで、去年から地域と小学校が連携して、横川で藍を育てています。
その藍で染めた布を商店街各所の街灯に野外展示し、三篠公民館では活動記録を展示します。藍のまち横川をお楽しみください。

【Indigo dyeing “Misasa ai”】
Since the Edo period (1603-1868), leaf indigo had been an important local crop. According to Misasa’s local history, the area in Asa Gun produced particularly high quality fresh indigo during the Edo period. Cloth dyed with its indigo will be displayed on street lamp posts around the shopping district, and a record of the activities will be shown at the Misasa Community Center.
